I like us

This is my last project I created using the August kit Royal Birthday Wishes.  This has really been one of my favorite kits yet,. the colors were just amazing!  I used the kit to scrapbook some of my favorite pictures of my hubby and I with our youngest.

And here are some closeups, I added some Chic Tags.

I used some of the Basic Grey wood flags that we got in the June Sampler Kit.

I loved the stamp set that was included this month, and created an ombre embellishment using one of the stamps.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today.  Stay tuned for the Sept kit, it's amazing!!

Hello There

Today's layout I have to share is fairly simple, but it's bright. I started off with the gold foil paper in the kit the 4x6 chevron from the cut apart sheet. I cut the green stars to 6x6 and a photo. I wanted to use the "Hello There" banner piece from the sticker sheet and I had enough letters left to spell out Epcot's formal name and I used all those arrows from the sheet as they remind me of the pattern on Spaceship Earth. A bit of journaling with a white pen and a sticker to help tell the date and I had a bright, but quick layout!

Here's the layout I created using the cut file.

Here's a closeup.

If you use the cut file, make sure to link me up so I can check it out.  Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by the blog.

Have you picked up your August kit yet?! If not, you're totally missing out! I'm in LOVE with mine. I'm mostly into the vibrant colors and fun patterned papers in this one! Here's a layout that I created using a handful of those different patterned papers:

The star papers are my favorite; they're so playful, so I thought it'd be fitting to this layout I made of my dog, Maui. Here's an obligatory closeup shot of the layout:

I wasn't kidding about all of the colors and patterns in this month's kit. Isn't it fun?! If you haven't picked it up or aren't subscribed to the kit, make sure to check it all out here

Happy Friday, peeps!

Divided Page

Today I have a page from my Disney 2013 album to share. It's a 6x8 Snap album documenting all 3 of my Disney parks visits this year. This page is all about the afternoon rain in Orlando. I used 3 cards from the Echo Park cut apart sheet, the big alphabet and label are from the Studio Calico accent sheet, and the yellow today is from the Jillibean Soup sticker sheet. I added a couple pieces from my stash. The gold grid alphabet from Dear Lizzy I used to spell out afternoon (which is tough to photograph) I then added a small piece of dotted washi to the top of the photo and across 3 of the sections I added some old mistable clouds from Studio Calico.
I wanted the clouds to be navy and to get the look I wanted I took some navy paint I have in my stash and added a good amount of water to it and then painted it on the clouds.  I didn't want to wait for them to dry so I took a baby wipe and dried them that way. It gives them a slightly weathered look. You could also heat set it or paint them and set them aside for a bit.

I stepped out of my comfort zone and did some painting with my mists for this layout, and I have to say I adore the result!  The colors in the August kit are just so much fun, and were perfect for this dancing pictures of my daughter.

Here's a closeup of the fun Jilibean Soup stamps in the kit.  I did some gold embossing with them.

Thanks for dropping by the blog!

Santa Cruz - Royal Birthday Wishes

Hi everyone!  Nancy here today to share with you another project I made using the August kit, Royal Birthday Wishes from the Sampler.

I added a few items from a previous month's kit that I had lying about and colored my butterflies with some permanent markers to make them match my page.

Don't forget to check out the color challenge here at the sampler.  There is still time to play.

another simple card.

Sarah, here. Today, I plan on keeping it nice and simple. How about I share a simple card that I created?! For this particular card, I tried using up some of my leftover scraps from the August kit.

Basically, to create this card, I layered three different patterned pieces accordingly. Then, I layered a pennant that I hand cut with some kraft paper; lastly, I added some of the stickers that were included in the kit to finish it off.

Good thing I didn't throw away those scraps! It would've been a wasted card, hehe.

Happy Friday, everyone!

In the Moment

Today I have a layout to share with you. I loved the Line in the Moment card from the Echo Park cut apart sheet. I took several pictures of my husband and our cat hanging out one night. Which is pretty rare. The photo is a little dark, but I love it. I used the stamp from the kit and Butter Bar Hero Arts Ink to stamp Love This to the top of the photo and small sticker from the alphabet sheet that says snapshot at the bottom. I added some washi tape and the sweet sticker to balance out the page and to bring the tone on tone blue to the top of the page like it is on the bottom with the card.

And I'm done!

With this page, I have actually completed my son's first year, and it only took me two years. :)  I have used The Sampler's kits on almost every page, and this page was no different. The August kit, Royal Birthday Wishes was perfect for it, and I can't wait to share the other pages I created using it.

Here are some closeups.

Don't forget about the July challenge, you have until August 15th to link up a project. Thanks for stopping by!

happy go lucky

Hi, everyone! Sarah, here.

Yup, we're officially in the month of August. My, oh my! Time moves way too fast, and not to freak anybody out, the holiday season is just a handful of months away! Yikes! On another note, today I am sharing a layout using the bright and cheery August kit.

I love the different selection of patterned papers in this one. To showcase these papers, I laid down various papers to create a grid for my background.

...and I couldn't resist using that picture of my little one. Seriously, he's just a "happy go lucky" kind of dog. Ack, I digress, hehe! Here's a more in depth closeup of the layout above:

Hope you enjoyed this project as much as I had fun creating it! Happy Friday, crafty folk!

It's August already! Today I have a quick card showcasing a few pieces from this month's kit. I used the Bo Bunny swiss dot paper for the card base and the hello is from the Glitz Color Me Happy Whatnots. The butterfly pin from Jillibean Soup is also in the kit. I used white cardstock to die cut some clouds and a extra sliver of yellow to die cut the heart. The dies are all from Lawn Fawn, and are some favorites in my stash.
