Hello City

I loved the stencil in this months kit and used it to create my own background for this layout. I used a brown chalk ink after an attempt to use a neon dye ink went south quick. I then selected my photo and put it in one of the frames and started my journaling about the city that is now my home. So I added the calender 3x4 card and the enjoy the everyday sticker and finished off the last quadrant with the pebbles alphabet for the title and a few gems. Then a may have gone a little overboard and used the washi paper from The Pier on each side, but I like it.

Thanks for stopping by.

These are the days

This is probably my favorite layout I've done in awhile.  I used the amazing July kit, available here along with some of my favorite Chic Tags.  The cut file comes from the talented Christine Newman from WCS, and you can download it here

Here's a closeup for you.  I decided to try misting different colors on the die cut and I love how it turned out.

Thanks for stopping by the blog, don't forget about the July challenge, you have until Aug 15th to link something up for a chance to win some cool embellishments from our kits.

woof woof.

Hi, crafty friends! It's me, Sarah, and today, I'm sharing another layout that I created using July's awesome kit. I wanted to keep it a simple design because I wanted to showcase the fun Polaroid frames included in this month's kit. It's neat that the frames are all perforated, and you get to pick and choose which ones you want to use. Here, I used three different ones to frame pictures of my little pup, Hilo.

I used some 3-D pop dots on the center frame to make the middle photo stand out a little bit more. Oh, and if you're wondering where the black schnauzer die cut out came from, I used my Silhouette Cameo. Other than that, it's a pretty simple layout to create. Just add a little bit of washi tape here and there; add cute little embellishments to jazz up your page, and lastly journal! Easy, peasy, right?!

Happy Friday, everyone!

Last year The Academy of Sciences in San Francisco, CA had a group of baby ostriches and we took a trip to see them. I wanted the focus to be on the beautiful little creatures so I went simple. I started with the woodgrain paper and took the scrap that's left over from my trimming it down to 8.5x11 to create the contrasting strip. I added a little a line of washi tape from my stash as well. I used the two smaller alphabets on the Echo Park sheet to do the subtitle and the larger alphabet to do the main title. Which also worked for the journaling for me. I added the date and location with my pen and a few gems to the bottom right and I love it.

Love the stickers, both solid and transparent that come in this kit.

make your own patterned paper.

Hi, everyone! It's me, Sarah. Today, I wanted to share one of my favorite layouts that I created using July's kit. Why?! Well, because I got to play with the cool Prima stencil/mask that was included in this month's kit. As a matter of fact, the patterned paper was created by yours truly. I placed the mask onto a plain piece of white cardstock, and then, I inked over it. I repeated that a couple of times on my page to get the neat patterned background of triangles.

I think it's pretty neat that you can create your own patterned paper with the mask, and do it in any color for that matter. It's perfect for whatever layout you have planned next.

As far as the details on this layout, I created a tag and inserted it into the cute little bag pockets that were included in the kit. It's perfect for the extra journaling I had in mind.

As you can see, this kit is loaded with tons of goodies. Don't believe me?! Make sure to check out all of the other projects the other Sampler girls are creating!

Happy Friday, all!

Beautiful Summer Day

I had a lot of fun with today's layout. I don't do Project Life, but I love finding ways to use those cut apart sheets that are everywhere these days. Today I used it to frame my photo. The bunting and the memories banner are great to wrap around this photo of the beauty of the Mark Twain Riverboat.  I used both alphabet sets included to create the title and a few of the accessory stickers to embellish the layout.

I have been away on vacation, but couldn't wait to pull out the July kit and start scrapping as soon as I got home.  It's such an amazing kit!  If you don't have your's yet, you should definitely head here and pick one up.

My daughter took this picture of my son when they were out exploring on our first day back home.  Later, he posted it on his instagram with the caption, "Finally back home in Texas."  That made me so happy that he considers Texas home, and I wanted to make sure it was a moment I always remembered.

I grabbed the Bazinga Mister Huey and the triangle mask and misted as I moved it around on my paper to get my background.  Then I just layered to my hearts content.

 Here's a closeup.

I love all the colors in this kit.  They are right up my alley!  Thanks for stopping by the blog and have a great Wednesday!

so very loved.

Hi, everyone! Sarah, here, as Friday's blog host. You all must know by now how much I love my pups. Yup, I've got two of them, and I tend to scrapbook them often, hehe. ...so if you guessed that I was going to share a layout of my pups today, then you're absolutely right!

The layout below was created using the July kit! My favorite part about this kit are the colors, especially the navy and deep blues.*sigh* As a matter of fact, I can't wait to get creating more projects using this one.

Hope you enjoyed this layout as much as I had fun creating it. Happy Friday, folks!

Revealing the "Lazy Days of Summer" Kit

Whether you're soaking in the sun or you're suffering in the heat, this month's kit is sure to turn those long summer days into short, scrappy nights!

We love the colors for this month and the stencil is to die for! For more details, hit up our storefront! Please note that there is a mister huey's bazinga mist included in this kit but not photographed.

Boy pages can be Pink

Happy 4th of July! I remember growing up going out to the lake with family for the 4th of July so today I have a picture from a boat trip my husband took a couple years ago.
I started the page with the Dear Lizzy paper for my background and used one the envelopes as a layering piece with a 3x4 card from Glitz. Some washi tape to balance the top and bottom with a sticker from the Echo Park sheet. I did run into a slight problem with the title. There aren't any apostrophes in the alphabets, but I had a small black brad in my stash that easily worked.
A few of the awesome heart brads and journaling details and this layout was complete and I love it.

I hope everyone has a great 4th! Thanks for stopping by!
