use your flair!

Hi, everyone! It's me, Sarah. Today, I wanted to share a card I recently created. I especially wanted to use the flair that was included in this month's kit. At first, I didn't know how I should use up these cute flair embellishments, and then I thought about making a card. Check it out:

Here's simple instruction to this card:

1. Create a card base, Mine is 5.5"x4.25"
2. Cut desired color cardstock to 5.5"x4.25". Then, adhere it to front of card.
3. Cut patterned paper to 5.25"x4".
4. Layer and glue down patterned paper on top of color cardstock.
5. Add your flair accordingly.

Easy peasy, right?! get out that flair and get creating!

Hope you enjoyed reading my post for today. Wishing you all a fantastic weekend!

I have a card to share today made with the scraps from my layouts. Which is one of my favorite ways to make a card.  I love the big bold greeting and the colors of this card.
The card base is 4.25x5.5. I trimmed the blue Studio Calico paper to 4x5.25 and the woodgrain is 5x3 and I used a scallop punch on the top. I put a 2x5 strip under the woodgrain I added a few enamel dots to bring the colors from the top of the card to the bottom and this card is done.

College Prep

Hi everyone!  Nancy here today to share with you my final project using the new Lazy Days of Summer kit from the Sampler.

My children have picked up this fun game (water pong) from their friends. On this rainy day decided to set up a table under an EZ up to play.  This is a take on the popular college game, beer pong, designed for the younger set.

Thanks for stopping by today.

June 2013 Challenges

Welcome to the June 2013 challenge post! It's your resident challenge coordinator again and I'm here to share the sketches for this month.

First, we have the layout sketch. Amy Coose stepped up to the plate with this super creative sketch!

The designers had a blast using the June 2013 Sampler kit called The Lazy Days Of Summer to make their layouts. Scroll down to see what they created!

This is the June 2013 card sketch. It's also the last sketch that I'll be making for The Sampler sketch challenges. I'm leaving The Sampler design team at the end of this month. It's been a pleasure working with such an awesome group of talented ladies and I've definitely loved working for Holly. I'll miss everyone!

Again, the designers made some amazing examples! Check out the variety of ways they used June 2013 The Lazy Days Of Summer kit.

Life is an Adventure

Today I have another layout showcasing the fun Glitz paper layers. I took a handful of Instax pictures when we took my in laws to Monterrey. It looked like it be a beautiful day, but there ended up being one small cloud system sitting on top of Monterrey so our beautiful adventure turned into an overcast 17 mile drive. It was still a lot of fun so the quote really spoke to me with these photos. I added the date with some old Basic Grey alphabet stickers I had to the wood banner I added my journaling directly onto the patterned paper. In person it's actually really easy to read, but it didn't translate in the photo. I left space so my husband can leave his thoughts on the day if he wants. To dress up my polaroids I added some of the My Mind's Eye words and an enamel dot to 3 of the photos and another wood banner to the 4th.  It's a simple, but bold page and it's one of my favorites of the year so far.

We're back at Friday again. Yippee! I seriously love the weekend, but I also love getting to create with all of the cute scrapbook products out there on the market.

Today, I thought it would be fun to share a layout I recently created.

This is a layout about "some of my favorite things in life". I thought it would be a good idea to document some of my recent favorite loves (aka - shoes, photography, gardening, crafting). Even if it's very minimal journaling and photos without faces, I think just documenting your current favorites will be something fun to look at five or ten years from now.

Happy Friday, all!

Hello everyone!

I love the Glitz pages that are in this month's kit. I used it with a big 4x8 photo so the title didn't run away with the page and a smaller 3x5 photo I added the title using some Simple Stories alphabets on one of the Cosmo Cricket tags.  A few bits of washi and enamel dots and this bold page was done.

Thanks for visiting!

Talent Show

So I thought I'd try my hand at using some modeling paste along with a mask I had lying around, and I think I might be addicted.  It was a lot of fun getting messy with this layout.  I also added some white mist, and I love how it turned out.  The June kit has some of my favorite things ever in it.  I used the Glitz papers, the Basic Grey wood banners and the Cosmo Cricket tags, and of course the Fancy Pants Designs flair.

Here are some closeup shots.

And a shot of the modeling paste background.

Wait until you see the June kit, it's definitely my favorite kit to date.  Thanks for stopping by the blog.

quick card share.

Hello (and happy Friday) to all my fellow crafters out there!

Today, I thought it would be fun to share a simple card I created using the June kit. ...and as we all know, I'm not too much of a cardmaker, so it's easy enough for anyone to replicate! It only required minimal patterned paper and some wood veneer and brad embellishments.

Here are the steps to recreate this card:

1. Cut patterned paper to 4.25"x5.5".
2. Add three matching brads to top right corner. Then, adhere paper to card base.
3. Layer a tiny 1"x3" border strip to left edge of card front. (Perfect opportunity to use up scraps.)
4. Adhere three various wood veneers to card.

...and you're done! Check it out - a card in under five steps.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Meeting Mickey

Welcome to June. This year is just flying by.

Today I have a layout to share from the June kit. I took one of the cosmo cricket tags and turned it over and stamped some lines to do my journaling. I added some die cut hearts and used the enamel dots from the kit to accent them and pull the colors that I used from the layouts around the page. It's a small addition, but I like it. I added a couple strips of washi, and a piece of flair from the kit to bridge the tags. I then stamped my title with some Lawn Fawn stamps (although it doesn't show up well in the photo) It's simple, but for me the page was all about the photo and the story behind it.

Hello, I love you.

When I was going through all the amazing goodies in the June kit, I was drawn to one piece in particular included in the Glitz Design paper layers.  I knew immediately what I wanted to do.

Here are some closeups.

There is so much that I just adore in this kit, especially those woodgrain flags from Basic Grey and the flair from Fancy Pants Designs.  LOVE!!

Head over to SBSRU and grab your June kit.  You'll be so happy you did.
