we're headed into june!

Happy Friday, all!

A new month is almost upon us, which means there's a new kit being released. When I got my hands on June's kit, I was excited to create with it. Today, I thought it would be fun to share a layout using June's kit. Hopefully, it'll give you a pretty good sneak peek into all of the goodies in the kit.

From the layout above, you'll notice all of the summery colors! It's loaded with an upbeat color palette. Plus, the embellishments included in the June kit compliment all of the papers so well.

Make sure to keep checking back for more projects from the rest of our talented design team.

Your 11th Month

I can't believe I have almost finished my baby boy's first year album, and he's not even two!!  Yay for me!  The Sampler's kits have made it super easy to create these monthly pages, and I love all the variation that my album has. I used the fabulous Thrift Shop kit to make his 11th month page, and I love how it turned out.

I used the Glitz Design roller to create the background, and everything else is from the kit.  Here are some closeups.

I can't believe how much he's grown already. I can't wait to share the June kit with you, it's one of my favorites!  Have a great Wednesday!

die cut polaroids.

Have you noticed all of the Polaroid frames in the craft industry recently?! Crafters have been jumping into that craze, and I think it's fun! As a matter of fact, in this month's kit, you'll see that there's a whole pack of Polaroid die cuts to play with. One way to use them, of course, is to stick a picture behind it and use it as a frame. For this project, however, I wanted to try something different. Here's what I did:

Using a plain white piece of cardstock, I made my own patterned paper. I think all of the scattering of frames makes it fun. What do you think?

...and that's all I have for today. Thanks for letting me share one of my latest layouts!

April 2013 Challenge Winners

I used to chose the winners for the April 2013 challenges because I couldn't have picked a favorite if I tried. Congrats ladies!

Please send your shipping information to Holly{AT}scrapbookingsuppliesrus{DOT}com! Don't forget to enter the May 2013 Challenges for a chance to win a sampling of goodies from The Sampler.

I hope everyone has great plans for Memorial Day weekend. I'm going to be at Disneyland so I felt a Disneyland layout from my 2010 trip was a great idea. I loved the star paper from Dear Lizzy in the kit and started with that I cut the kraft mat to 6x8 and the green is 5.5x7.5 I then put down my photo and put the Studio Calico frame on top. I'm holding it down with a strip of washi tape.

Those flags at the top are because of my cat. He decided to walk across my page as I was gluing sequins down (like the bottom right corner) and so the sequins went everywhere, but the glue stayed so to cover it up I added our initials to flags. Which you could easily do with the DIY thickers, but I ran out of glitter so I grabbed some Lawn Fawn stamps.

I created the journaling block by using the back of one of the snippets pages and I added journaling lines and I used all my roller date/phrase stamps with some ink to fill in the rest. Creating clusters or even a background is a great way to use those little phrase stamps you might be collecting.  If you don't have stamps you could extend the journaling or write your own phrases in different markers.

I think this will make a great intro page for our Disneyland 2010 book.

I couldn't wait to get these pictures scrapped of my boy playing hockey. I used my cameo to cut out the title and arrows, and then added a couple of Chic Tags.

Here are some closeups.

I have loved the fun colors in this kit, and that red star paper is my favorite.  Thanks for stopping by, and head on over to SBSRU to grab your May kit today!

May 2013 Challenges

Welcome to the May 2013 challenge post! It's your resident challenge coordinator again and I'm here to share the sketches for this month.

First, we have the layout sketch. Holly was busy this month, so I stepped up to the plate with this Instagram inspired sketch.

The designers had a blast using May 2013 Sampler kit to make their layouts. Scroll down to see what they created!

This is the May 2013 card sketch. I thought it would be fun to keep the card sketch pretty simple so there would be a lot of opportunity to add fun embellishments from the kit.

Again, the designers made some amazing examples! Check out the variety of ways they used May 2013 Thrift Shop kit.

card share.

Wow! When was the last time I shared a card I made? It's probably been weeks because I hardly make cards. Today, however, you're in luck because I'm sharing a simple card I created using May's kit.

I used various patterned papers, a journal card from the cute stack included in this month's kit, and a button from that BoBunny embellishment pack.

If you have the May kit, make sure to flip through the Basic Grey stack in the kit. You will notice that there are tons of different little sayings you can cut out and use on cards (or layouts). On this particular card, I used the "thinking of you always makes me smile" sentiment, and I think it worked out just perfectly.

Happy Friday, folks!

Grey Skies

Half way through the month and I have a quick and easy card for you. I'm enjoying the Basic Grey Snippets pack that's in this month's kit and that's how this card got started. I added the yellow My Mind's Eye paper as my base and a large stripe of the Hambly  lace and a button and it's a happy card I could send to someone to cheer them up.

You can pick up this month's kit at SSRU

it's all about the gold (and glitter, too!)

Have you noticed that gold is one of the latest trends out there?! It's not just in clothing and jewelry; it's also hit the craft industry. Thank goodness that this month's kit has its fair share of gold in the form of pretty glitter. To make things even better, there's a set of DIY Thickers from American Crafts, so it makes using glitter even easier. Basically, you pull back the top of each letter you want to use, expose an already sticky adhesive surface, and throw some glitter onto it!

Here's how I used glitter for my title, "Eureka":

My obligatory close up shot of my layout is below, hehe.

The neat thing about these letters is that it's not just limited to glitter. Feel free to use microbeads, tinsel, paper, etc. The sky's the limit with these DIY Thickers! Seriously, these letters are as good as gold, hehe.

Dress Up

This week I played with the DIY Thickers and the gold glitter. The shoes I bought and wearing in the pictures looks a lot like the glitter title.
I then started layering paper on paper and I like the way it ended up. pieces of the snippets and 4 of the patterned papers. A few hearts that I punched out to use on last week's layout that were still sitting on my table to create a triangle with the frame and I called the layout done.

Let it Snow

Yes, I know it's May, but Thrift Shop is so versatile that I had no problem using it to scrap this picture of my daily walk in the snow.

Here is a closeup:

I love all the goodies included in this kit, like the SC polaroid frames.

Thanks for stopping by!

I really enjoy how many cute little embellishments this month's kit has to offer. There's lots of journaling cards, buttons, and fun stickers to help you jazz up your projects. This year is just flying by. Today I have a layout I did about the way I've been clothes shopping lately. that journaling block on the right is the packaging from the Bo Bunny buttons. I used the Lucille snippet's book too. I cut out the piece with the dresses, but didn't think the "Back to Basics" worked well with the layout so I put another piece over it and added the word "Don't" because I don't like ruffles and frills. I inked the edges with yellow ink from the kit a couple months ago to stand out a bit against the blue in the chevron.

To make sure my title block fit in I used a journaling piece from the Sinppet's book and Lawn Fawn A Birdie Told me and Riley's abc stamps. I added a button to cover a mistake I made when stamping, but I like how it looks, a small strip of washi from my stash and that awesome banner and I called it done.

Thanks for checking it out!
