Happy Birthday!

Sometimes I forget when birthdays come up or I need a thank you card. I made this card in just 5 minutes from scraps of the kit!
I started with the blue corrugated paper as my base and added a strip of the yellow dots that I tore on the edge. I trimmed the 3x4 card and added a 3x4 cream stripe behind it. I loved that the card had the definition for happy on it and used that to work with the birthday. I added a piece of the multi dots behind and a couple of buttons and I had a quick card ready for a birthday.

Another April layout

I really enjoyed this kit, and all the fun colors and extras!  This layout came together easily and I just added some Chic Tags from my stash to finish it off.

Here are some close ups.

The April kit will definitely go down as one of my favorite kits ever.  Wait until you see May's kit, it's amazing, too!!

April 2013 Sketch Challenges

Welcome to the April 2013 challenge post! It's your resident challenge coordinator again and I'm here to share the sketches for this month.

I created a card sketch with a repeating embellishment down the center. You could use flowers, hearts, stars, or anything really! I can't wait to see what you all come up with.

The designers made some amazing examples! Check out the variety of ways they used the vibrant April 2013 kit.

Next, we have the layout sketch. Holly was busy this month so I stepped up to the plate! I included room for one photo and lots of embellishments.

The designers had a blast using April 2013 Sampler kit to make their layouts. Scroll down to see what they created!

you are so loved.

Hey, everyone! Sarah, here, to write a short snippet on my latest piece created using April's kit. Hopefully, you've all been enjoying all of the fabulous inspiration from my fellow kit club designers this week. They are all so incredibly talented, and I'm so honored to be working with all of them.

Below is a layout I created using a bunch of leftover scraps I had out on my table. Most of the scraps, of course, are from April's kit.

Here's a close up shot of some of the details:

Some of my favorite pieces in this month's kit are the chipboard and button pieces from Fancy Pants! It's jammed packed with quality embellishments. Click on this link to check out everything included in April's kit.

Today I challenged myself to try to use a few of the presized papers. I had trimmed the sheet of 6x6 alphabet and the sheet of 3x4 cards down when I received the kit.  So I grabbed the pink alphabet card and I took the corrugated paper and trimmed it down to 6x8 and painted it with white paint.
I did add a that circle with a background stamp I have from Basic Grey to pull a little more of the purple out of the photo and fill the hole I had there.
Since this layout is about the soundtrack to World of Color I thought the Hello would make a great title and the music summed up what I was saying hello to. I made the music using Quinn's ABC dies and glittered foam. It's a fun look and I can never run out of letters.

You can pick up April's kit at SSRU!

A Card

I am proud to say that I actually made a card using the April kit. I am NOT a card maker and usually shy away from even attempting them, but I needed a card, and thought I'd give it a go.  I am quite proud.

I sprayed the kraft butterfly with the color shine we got in a previous kit, and it matched the Lawn Fawn stickers perfectly.

Have you checked out the April kit yet?  It's awesome, I promise you'll love it!

Live Loud

Hi everyone!  Nancy here today to share with you another project I made with the April kit from the Sampler.

Love the fun, bright colors in this kit...
and the adorable felt flowers.  I even threw in one of the transparencies from last month.

layout love.

Hi, everyone! Sarah, here. Recently, I've been in such a creative mood to create scrapbook layouts! guess what I plan on sharing today? Yup, a layout, using April's kit of course. For this particular layout, I wanted to document the joys of springtime, meaning I finally busted out my flats from my shoe collection, hehe.

To add a touch of spring, I embellished my layout with butterflies. No need to cut or punch them out though, April's kit has butterflies already included. Yippee! I love it when Holly makes it nice and easy for all of us, hah!

Thanks for looking, and hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Be Happy

It's another Disney layout from me today. I used my die cutting machine for this one for the doily and the scallop piece. Which I cut from the button packaging. I love when the packaging from something is reusable. I used one of the 3x4 Simple Stories cards for my title and journaling. I took one of the stickers from the My Mind's Eye sheet and cut it to turn it into a tab and pop dotted it on to the top of the journaling.  I stitched on a few buttons and created a clean and simple layout.

Thanks for checking it out and be sure to check back for more inspiration tomorrow from Sarah.

My Sweet Girl

I found these pictures on my phone that my girl had taken of herself, and I couldn't wait to scrap them.  First of all, she is gorgeous (biased, much?) but I also love how it captures her sweet personality.  I didn't like, however, that she looks much older than her actual 11 years.

Here is a closeup.

There is so much gorgeous stuff in the April kit.  I love the soft colors with a pop of turquoise.  Of course the Fancy Pants Designs goodies are my favorite. :)

Head over to the SSRU shop to grab your April kit!

Got to Dye-It

Hi everyone!  Nancy here today to share with you another project made with the April kit.  The colors are just perfect for those spring time photos...even these of my oldest dying Easter eggs.  He is such a trooper, he still plays along to make me happy.

So many fun elements in the kit.  Cute buttons, lovely papers, great stickers.....And oh, how I do love that corrugated paper.

The kit should be available in the Scrapbooking Supplies R Us store soon.  Be sure and grab one while you can.  And don't forget to check out the sketch and card challenges.

Today, it's me, Sarah, as your blog host, and I wanted to share a layout I created using April's kit. Have you seen this month's kit yet?! The colors are so perfect for your spring photos, but not just limited to that. It's pretty versatile. For me, it worked well with some of my recent photos from Hawaii.

Here's one of my recent layouts using April's kit:

If you're a subscriber to this kit, then you may notice in my detail shot the bird wood veneers. Yup, those were from March's kit! Don't feel limited to using just one kit on a project, feel free to add snippets from some of your past kits. It's a great way to use your stash!

Beautiful Morning!

Happy April everyone!
Today's layout started when I opened the kit and saw the Hello Beautiful sticker in the Basic Grey pack. I had just printed a handful of my all time favorite Disney World pictures from the past several years a couple days before and the colors of the kit are great for Disney pictures. I finished the title with the Lawn Fawn stickers. I added a button, heart, and some sequins (from my stash) to finish embellishing the layout. To ground it I used some of the woodgrain washi from last month's kit. To create the journaling block I die cut an eyelet circle in a scrap of yellow from last month's kit and from the Simple Stories dot paper. I then journaled using a white pen.
