while we wait...

Carsland: Simply Sweet

We've come to the end of February and I have one last layout to share with you from Simply Sweet.   The Neon Lights paper from October Afternoon is one of my favorite sheets of all time. When I visited Carsland for the first time last month I took my Instax 25s camera with me and documented the beautiful lights with it.  I created the title using the thickers and rubbing them in different Prima chalk inks that matched the colors in the paper. I die cut a few arrows in thin chipboard and colored them with the Prima ink as well.

When I was putting the doodads on the paper as some simple embellishments I cut part the branding strip from the Midway paper that was called Neon Lights. It was perfect to add and complete my title and journaling for this layout. I finished off the layout by splattering some of the Pink Lemonade.

Tomorrow starts March which means the reveal of the March kit! So be sure to come back tomorrow.

It's almost time for the March kit

and I bet you're excited to see it!  Before we move on to the next kit, I wanted to share my last layout I created using the gorgeous Simply Sweet kit.  This kit was amazing, and I am having a hard time putting it away.  I adored the Heidi Swapp mist this month, it is such a pretty color.  For this layout, I used a TON of cut files from the Silhouette Store and the patterned paper was more of an accent.

Here are some closeups.

Disney Days - Simply Sweet

Hi everyone!  Nancy here today to share with you one last project with the gorgeous Simply Sweet kit from the Sampler.

My family recently spent a few days in Disneyland where I snapped this photo of my girls.

Bits of the gorgeous mist in the kit and the fabulous buttons highlight this layout.

I loved the color of the mist and couldn't resist customizing my Thickers and adding a sprinkle of them to my card stock base.

Be sure and grab your Simple Sweet kit before they are gone.  And don't forget about the sketch and card challenges going on here.

layout share.

I can't believe it's Friday yet again, not that I'm complaining or anything, hehe. I love Fridays because it means that the weekend is right around the corner, and it also means it's my day to post! Today, I wanted to share another layout I created using February's kit, Simply Sweet.

For my last layout share this month, I snagged some photos from fellow design team member, Ann, to use. When I saw how cute these photos of her cat were, I couldn't resist. I knew this kit was going to be just perfect.

...and because this kit comes with an October Afternoon sprinkler, I had to use it on this one.

People are always asking me, "How am I supposed to use those mists/sprays?" Well, for starters, I used it to color my white canvas letters included in this month's kit. I also used it to add color to my kraft colored background.

The possibilities are endless when it comes to sprays. Don't believe me!? Bust out this month's kit, and give it a whirl! ;)

Us: Simply Sweet

Happy Thursday! This layout came together from scraps. I made different banner pieces stacked on the side of a photo I've had printed to scrap since 2010. So it's about time I get it into an album. I used my Martha Stewart Heart Confetti punch to create the heart scatters on the corners of the layout, and navy floss to stitch the buttons on. I edged everything with Farmer's Jeans Prima ink to tie all the paper together.

Grumpy - Scrapbook Banners and Doilies

Hi everyone!  Nancy here today to share with you another layout I made using the Simply Sweet kit from the Sampler.
banner, fussy cutting, mist
The fun, bright colors in this kit are some of my favorites.   I couldn't resist fussy cutting some of the cute doily shapes from the patterned paper.  The October Afternoon mist in this kit is just the perfect color.

And of course, you know my love for Thickers....these are so cute and mistable, although this time I chose to leave them their original color.  Love that.

Don't forget about the sketch and card challenges her on the Sampler blog.  Lots of great prizes to be won and you don't need to make a purchase to play.

Sometimes we miss or easily forget the details; we forget, that as a whole, the details make things the way they are. In the layout that I'm sharing today, I used a picture of shoes. It's not a photo subject you'd find in your typical scrapbook; however, remembering the details of my shoes takes me back to actually walking around my wedding day.

Majority of the papers used in this layout come from February's Simply Sweet kit. The letters used for "DETAILS" actually come from last month's kit (that's the great part about being a subscriber to kits - you will most likely have scraps and leftovers to use for your upcoming projects). All of the hearts were hand cut using plain color cardstock, and they make for some simple, but fun embellishments.

Back to my original thoughts - next time you have your camera with you, don't forget to pay close attention to the details. You're bound to capture images you'll want to remember forever. ...and trust me, you're going to want to scrapbook them. ;)

Lake Placid

Hey everyone, I am excited to share one of my favorite layouts I've completed so far with the amazing February kit from The Sampler.  My son recently headed to Lake Placid, NY for a hockey tournament, and although I wasn't able to go this time, I made sure that my hubby got plenty of amazing photos for me.  I pulled a few out for this layout about their trip.

Here are some closeup shots. I layered and sewed to my hearts content!

Girl Meet..... Simply Sweet

Hi everyone!  Nancy here today today to share with you a project I made with the Simply Sweet kit from the Sampler.  I had this photo of myself grilling this last summer and thought it would be fun to scrap it.
nancy keslin, the sampler, kit club, buttons, banner
I promise the bottom of the paper is straight in real life, there was a bit of a wind and it was blowing...hee hee    Don't you just love all the buttons in this kit.  They are just super cute.  Lately, I haven't been able to get enough buttons.

I misted the DIY Thickers with some mist from an older kit to match the buttons, adding a older set of Thickers as well as a banner for some interest.

Don't forget to check out this month's sketch and card challenge.  There is still time to play.

This Month's Kit:

so blissful.

It's great to be back posting for The Sampler! I don't know about you, but looking at everyone else's fantastic projects have kept me inspired. ;)

Today, I just wanted to share a layout that I created using February's kit, Simply Sweet. ...and because Valentine's Day right around the corner, I couldn't resist incorporating hearts onto my layout.

With all of the beautiful patterned papers in this month's kit, using hearts is a great way to show them all off. Besides, the piles of scraps you have accumulated work well with these hearts; it's a great way to use up those tiny little pieces from your kit.

Hopefully, you heart this layout as much as I do. *No pun intended.*

Happy Friday, everyone!

Love Card - Simple Sweet

Happy Thursday everyone!  For my first project of the month I created a card that could be for Valentine's Day or for a wedding. I started with the Echo Park doily paper as my card base.  I took the lace and trimmed it from the backing and sewed it onto  a piece of the Dear Lizzy "6th and Main" arrows. I cut the love using the Silhouette with the Snap paper for a bold yet simple greeting.

You can pick up your own kit at SBRU

10 months

I used the amazing February kit to create a layout for my son's baby album.  I love all the cool patterns Holly included this month, so I knew I wanted to use a lot of them, but with so many pictures it doesn't leave room for much.  I grabbed one of my 12x12 masks, and sanded the pattern onto the core'dinations cardstock, then filled in some shapes here and there with the patterns.  I love how it turned out.

Here are some closeups.  I cut out some arrows and the row of hearts using my cameo.  I love the little details I can add with that machine!

Head over to the SBRU store to grab your February kit, and have a great Wednesday!
