Put a Bird on it... Inspiration

I love using my diecut machine. There are so many possibilities when it comes to simple paper and a cut file. What drives me a little crazy is when I find a file I love but I have to cut it many times to get all the layering I want.

Thats what happened here. I adore this little bird on a branch which was large cut file (not little pieces you assemble yourself) and totally wanted to use it on a layout, but when I cut it once it was pretty bleh. So I cut it 3x to do a little layering...

Layering diecuts this way is like the lazy lady's way to fussy cut. To create the layering here, I cut the exact same file from three different sheets of paper from the kit. Once the paper was cut, i used very simple trimming to cut out the branch of the kraft cardstock, a flower and leaves from the wood grain screen print and then simply adhered the layers right on top of the other.

So, the only "problem" with this technique is you end up with extras. And using amazing paper like the Hambly found in our sept2012 kit, I really didn't want to waste it. So i made a card using the little birdie as well...
