Disneyland

I hope everyone has great plans for Memorial Day weekend. I'm going to be at Disneyland so I felt a Disneyland layout from my 2010 trip was a great idea. I loved the star paper from Dear Lizzy in the kit and started with that I cut the kraft mat to 6x8 and the green is 5.5x7.5 I then put down my photo and put the Studio Calico frame on top. I'm holding it down with a strip of washi tape.

Those flags at the top are because of my cat. He decided to walk across my page as I was gluing sequins down (like the bottom right corner) and so the sequins went everywhere, but the glue stayed so to cover it up I added our initials to flags. Which you could easily do with the DIY thickers, but I ran out of glitter so I grabbed some Lawn Fawn stamps.

I created the journaling block by using the back of one of the snippets pages and I added journaling lines and I used all my roller date/phrase stamps with some ink to fill in the rest. Creating clusters or even a background is a great way to use those little phrase stamps you might be collecting.  If you don't have stamps you could extend the journaling or write your own phrases in different markers.

I think this will make a great intro page for our Disneyland 2010 book.

Play

I couldn't wait to get these pictures scrapped of my boy playing hockey. I used my cameo to cut out the title and arrows, and then added a couple of Chic Tags.

Here are some closeups.

I have loved the fun colors in this kit, and that red star paper is my favorite.  Thanks for stopping by, and head on over to SBSRU to grab your May kit today!

May 2013 Challenges

Welcome to the May 2013 challenge post! It's your resident challenge coordinator again and I'm here to share the sketches for this month.

First, we have the layout sketch. Holly was busy this month, so I stepped up to the plate with this Instagram inspired sketch.

The designers had a blast using May 2013 Sampler kit to make their layouts. Scroll down to see what they created!

This is the May 2013 card sketch. I thought it would be fun to keep the card sketch pretty simple so there would be a lot of opportunity to add fun embellishments from the kit.

Again, the designers made some amazing examples! Check out the variety of ways they used May 2013 Thrift Shop kit.

card share.

Wow! When was the last time I shared a card I made? It's probably been weeks because I hardly make cards. Today, however, you're in luck because I'm sharing a simple card I created using May's kit.

I used various patterned papers, a journal card from the cute stack included in this month's kit, and a button from that BoBunny embellishment pack.

If you have the May kit, make sure to flip through the Basic Grey stack in the kit. You will notice that there are tons of different little sayings you can cut out and use on cards (or layouts). On this particular card, I used the "thinking of you always makes me smile" sentiment, and I think it worked out just perfectly.

Happy Friday, folks!
